Degrassi: Should've Said No (Part 2)

"We could take a risk"

Tonight concluded week 3 of Degrassi: Now or Never. These episodes have not been as strong as previous weeks but still were able to deliver some good stories. We saw a lot of the earlier stories wrapped up to make way for the new stories coming for the rest of Now or Never.

It's Movie Night at Degrassi and of course there has to be drama!

Clare's mother feels guilty about going out at night, and assures her that she is not hanging out with random guys. Clare tells her that she understands that she has needs. Clare tells Alli that she is happy with the way things are going with Jake and the two are having fun being casual. She meets Jake to make out in a classroom, where he tells her that he will bail on Katie so he can hang out with Clare. That afternoon Clare gets her house ready for Jake to come over and stumbles upon her parent's divorce papers. She reads the reports of adultery and cruelty. When Jake arrives she sends him away and tells him that cancelling on Katie to be with her would make them less casual. She has Alli set her up with a boy Liam at Movie Night. But she watches as Jake sits with Katie and walks out with Liam. She tries to make out with him but Liam can tell she likes Jake. Jake later walks over and the two go to talk outside. Clare tells him that they should stay friends but the two then decided to take a risk together. After kissing, the two return to Clare's house. They run into their parents (Clare's mom and Jake's dad) who inform them that they are indeed dating right now. Clare and Jake give their parents their approval but do not tell them about their blooming relationship.

Adam is upset in the car ride to school when his mother informs him that the family may relocate to Boston because Drew wants to leave. Adam finally found a school he likes and yells at his brother for being a "wimp". Drew feels bad and tries to make the best of things. He invites Jess (a freshman girl he has talked to before) to Movie Night. The two begin to have fun, but Drew gets paranoid when he sees a guy that resembles one of the thugs who attacked him. Drew follows him to the gym where he realizes that it's his fellow student Julian. Drew watches as Owen and Julian wrestle UFC style. Drew gets excited and joins in, he immediately falls in love with this sport. He later tells his mother that he has made new friends and found a new activity to be involved in. Later Drew practices while watching it on TV, and punches a hole in the wall.

Dave tells Adam that he likes Sadie, but has stronger feelings for Alli. Dave worries about breaking Sadie's heart. Dave later makes plans to hang out with Alli again soon. At Movie Night, Dave advices KC (who is in a similar situation) to choose between Jenna and Marisol. Dave begins to let down Sadie easily, but Sadie realizes that Dave likes Alli. She makes a huge scene and dumps popcorn on Dave's head. Alli later flirts and questions Dave about what other girl he liked. Alli tells him that it took her past relationships to see what a great guy he was. The two plan a date for the future.

This episode of Degrassi really did not live up to what we expect for season 11, which has been great so far. While it's really on the line, we give this episode a C+. The main plot seemed better fit as a subplot. Drew's plot did not get nearly enough time. Dave's story seemed like a fine enough third plot, but it could not get the episode up enough, which a third plot shouldn't have to. Hopefully the rest of Now or Never reverts back to the awesomeness of the previous weeks.

Next Week: U Don't Know ("Rock Your Body" in the US) and Lose Yourself
