Degrassi: Should've Said No (Part 1)

"I'm going straight to hell"

Tonight Degrassi aired it's episode named after a Taylor Swift song. This week's episodes have not been quite as impressive as the first two weeks, but maybe tomorrow will surprise us. Everyone is planning on attending Movie Night at Degrassi in a few days. We are also now made aware that these episodes are taking place a month after Spring Fever (according to Drew).

Clare returns home from school to see Jake's father doing some work around the house. He also overhears her talking about Jake. Clare walks into her kitchen to see a shirtless Jake which makes her clearly nervous. The next day she tells Alli that she can't get him out of her head, and Alli suggest that she go for it with Jake because he is so different from Eli. Clare feels she has too much going on in her life right now, with Eli writing a play about how evil she is, to deal with Jake. She returns home to see Jake doing work there once again, her mother leaves and gives them money to order pizza. Clare goes upstairs to her room to be alone, but Jake comes in to check on her. The two bond over how it feels to have your parents going through a divorce, which leads to Clare impulsively kissing him. The next day Clare already regrets it and feels nervous about being around Jake. But after seeing Eli getting close with Imogen, Clare leaves a note for Jake asking him to have more fun. Clare is surprised when Katie informs her that Jake invited her to movie night. Clare questions him and he tells her that he does not want a relationship with anyone, and expected her to understand after Eli. That night Clare has a dream about kissing Jake, but she is awoken when she falls out of bed and hears her mother coming home after being out with a man. Clare and Jake later bond again over their parents, and Clare decides to have more hurt-free fun with Jake. The two begin to make out once again.

Drew is back at Degrassi for the first time since he was attacked in the street. He is trying to put the Spring Break fiasco behind him. Everyone is questioning him about what happened, and his friend KC tries to check on him. Drew lashes out and knocks down KC. Adam questions him about possibly having post traumatic stress disorder. But Drew once again lashes out against Adam and tells him to stay out of his business. Drew later apologizes to KC and joins in on the dodge ball game. In the middle of said game, Dave's cop dad comes into the gym. Drew gets paranoid and rushes over questioning and pushing him. Drew is embarrassed and realizes that he is losing it. He goes to his Mom and tells her about his fears, she offers to get him help but a very angry Drew still fears for his life.

Dave and Alli are in charge of planning the Movie Night for Degrassi. The two are happy to be hanging out as friends again, like they did freshman year. Dave invites her to go out to eat, but Alli does not think his girlfriend Sadie would approve. Dave assures her that Sadie won't mind. But at The Dot, Dave lies and tells Sadie he is hanging out with Adam. Dave lets Adam know that he needs to lie for him to Sadie. Adam questions why Dave would have to lie unless he still has feelings for Alli. Dave and Alli have a fun meal at The Dot until Marisol shows up and questions if they are doing this behind Sadie's back. Alli tells her that Sadie knows and doesn't care. But Dave quickly makes an excuse and bails.

So far the episode has not really been up to par with season 11. But here is hope tomorrow will pick up and surprise us. It looks like the majority of the episode takes place at Movie Night.
