"You're not the cute, sweet girl I thought you were"
Tonight Degrassi concluded the two part episode named after an M.I.A song. It was not quite as intense as many were expecting, but there were some surprising conclusions and another cliff hanger.
Anya is still using cocaine and caring it in an old locket. At school, she apologizes to Owen for her behavior, and the two plan to talk about it when he gets back from his tournament. Holly J helps Anya prep for her interview about getting into university and Anya soon realizes she is far from prepared for it. Right when she walks in the gentleman in charge of admissions warns her not to get her hopes up. As he steps out, Anya uses the opportunity to snort more cocaine to relax. Anya rushes through her interview with much more confidence afterward. Anya expects to hear something by the end of the day but doesn't. So she goes back to the office where she finds out that she blew the interview and is not getting in. Anya's parents try to comfort her but instead of staying home to make more plans, she does more coke and goes out to party with everyone at the club again.
Degrassi has the police investigating the mystery of the boy spotted in the girls' locker room that knocked Alli down. Everyone suspects it is the same person who has been stealing underwear. Connor assures Wesley it was not him. Later Wesley, Connor, and Hannah are presenting their app idea that helps girls select what clothing to wear and get a chance to compete with it. Alli is disturbed when she sees her top that was knitted for her pictured. She informs Wesley and Hannah which leads them all to realize that Connor was indeed the one who knocked down Alli in the locker room. Principal Simpson confronts his godson Connor, and Connor confesses to both knocking down Alli in the locker room and stealing underwear. Connor has an emotional break down in his office and Principal Simpson is worried about him. Connor is suspended and is going to get help to deal with his hormones that are harder for him to manage due to his aspergers. Connor gives Wesley the information he needs for their app and bids farewell as he leaves Degrassi for now.
In the morning at Fiona's, Charlie wants to celebrate their bed bug free life with champagne. Fiona changes the subject when she tells Charlie that she is tired of taking things slow. The two take the next step and have sex. Fiona confides her worries about drinking with Eli, and her fears of ruining her relationship with Charlie. That night Charlie once again is ready to toast together, which leads to Fiona confessing that she is a recovering alocholic. Fiona assures her that it's not a big deal and gets ready to prove it with a sip. Fiona catches herself and walks away to call her mom and later talk with her therapist. Fiona tells Charlie that she is not ready for a relationship. Charlie is less than thrilled to be moving back in with her mother but Fiona apologizes for everything.
This episode showed conclusions in Fiona's and Connor's storylines. They both shined well as good subplots. Anya's story was not as intense as one might have hoped, it seemed to peak in the beginning. It was good they left on a cliff hanger of her still doing cocaine, but it did not quite feel like a main plot. This episode gets a B but continues to show that Degrassi is rocking this season.
