Degrassi: Should've Said No (Part 1)

"I'm going straight to hell"

Tonight Degrassi aired it's episode named after a Taylor Swift song. This week's episodes have not been quite as impressive as the first two weeks, but maybe tomorrow will surprise us. Everyone is planning on attending Movie Night at Degrassi in a few days. We are also now made aware that these episodes are taking place a month after Spring Fever (according to Drew).

Clare returns home from school to see Jake's father doing some work around the house. He also overhears her talking about Jake. Clare walks into her kitchen to see a shirtless Jake which makes her clearly nervous. The next day she tells Alli that she can't get him out of her head, and Alli suggest that she go for it with Jake because he is so different from Eli. Clare feels she has too much going on in her life right now, with Eli writing a play about how evil she is, to deal with Jake. She returns home to see Jake doing work there once again, her mother leaves and gives them money to order pizza. Clare goes upstairs to her room to be alone, but Jake comes in to check on her. The two bond over how it feels to have your parents going through a divorce, which leads to Clare impulsively kissing him. The next day Clare already regrets it and feels nervous about being around Jake. But after seeing Eli getting close with Imogen, Clare leaves a note for Jake asking him to have more fun. Clare is surprised when Katie informs her that Jake invited her to movie night. Clare questions him and he tells her that he does not want a relationship with anyone, and expected her to understand after Eli. That night Clare has a dream about kissing Jake, but she is awoken when she falls out of bed and hears her mother coming home after being out with a man. Clare and Jake later bond again over their parents, and Clare decides to have more hurt-free fun with Jake. The two begin to make out once again.

Drew is back at Degrassi for the first time since he was attacked in the street. He is trying to put the Spring Break fiasco behind him. Everyone is questioning him about what happened, and his friend KC tries to check on him. Drew lashes out and knocks down KC. Adam questions him about possibly having post traumatic stress disorder. But Drew once again lashes out against Adam and tells him to stay out of his business. Drew later apologizes to KC and joins in on the dodge ball game. In the middle of said game, Dave's cop dad comes into the gym. Drew gets paranoid and rushes over questioning and pushing him. Drew is embarrassed and realizes that he is losing it. He goes to his Mom and tells her about his fears, she offers to get him help but a very angry Drew still fears for his life.

Dave and Alli are in charge of planning the Movie Night for Degrassi. The two are happy to be hanging out as friends again, like they did freshman year. Dave invites her to go out to eat, but Alli does not think his girlfriend Sadie would approve. Dave assures her that Sadie won't mind. But at The Dot, Dave lies and tells Sadie he is hanging out with Adam. Dave lets Adam know that he needs to lie for him to Sadie. Adam questions why Dave would have to lie unless he still has feelings for Alli. Dave and Alli have a fun meal at The Dot until Marisol shows up and questions if they are doing this behind Sadie's back. Alli tells her that Sadie knows and doesn't care. But Dave quickly makes an excuse and bails.

So far the episode has not really been up to par with season 11. But here is hope tomorrow will pick up and surprise us. It looks like the majority of the episode takes place at Movie Night.

Degrassi: Paper Planes (Part 2)

"You're not the cute, sweet girl I thought you were"

Tonight Degrassi concluded the two part episode named after an M.I.A song. It was not quite as intense as many were expecting, but there were some surprising conclusions and another cliff hanger.

Anya is still using cocaine and caring it in an old locket. At school, she apologizes to Owen for her behavior, and the two plan to talk about it when he gets back from his tournament. Holly J helps Anya prep for her interview about getting into university and Anya soon realizes she is far from prepared for it. Right when she walks in the gentleman in charge of admissions warns her not to get her hopes up. As he steps out, Anya uses the opportunity to snort more cocaine to relax. Anya rushes through her interview with much more confidence afterward. Anya expects to hear something by the end of the day but doesn't. So she goes back to the office where she finds out that she blew the interview and is not getting in. Anya's parents try to comfort her but instead of staying home to make more plans, she does more coke and goes out to party with everyone at the club again.

Degrassi has the police investigating the mystery of the boy spotted in the girls' locker room that knocked Alli down. Everyone suspects it is the same person who has been stealing underwear. Connor assures Wesley it was not him. Later Wesley, Connor, and Hannah are presenting their app idea that helps girls select what clothing to wear and get a chance to compete with it. Alli is disturbed when she sees her top that was knitted for her pictured. She informs Wesley and Hannah which leads them all to realize that Connor was indeed the one who knocked down Alli in the locker room. Principal Simpson confronts his godson Connor, and Connor confesses to both knocking down Alli in the locker room and stealing underwear. Connor has an emotional break down in his office and Principal Simpson is worried about him. Connor is suspended and is going to get help to deal with his hormones that are harder for him to manage due to his aspergers. Connor gives Wesley the information he needs for their app and bids farewell as he leaves Degrassi for now.

In the morning at Fiona's, Charlie wants to celebrate their bed bug free life with champagne. Fiona changes the subject when she tells Charlie that she is tired of taking things slow. The two take the next step and have sex. Fiona confides her worries about drinking with Eli, and her fears of ruining her relationship with Charlie. That night Charlie once again is ready to toast together, which leads to Fiona confessing that she is a recovering alocholic. Fiona assures her that it's not a big deal and gets ready to prove it with a sip. Fiona catches herself and walks away to call her mom and later talk with her therapist. Fiona tells Charlie that she is not ready for a relationship. Charlie is less than thrilled to be moving back in with her mother but Fiona apologizes for everything.

This episode showed conclusions in Fiona's and Connor's storylines. They both shined well as good subplots. Anya's story was not as intense as one might have hoped, it seemed to peak in the beginning. It was good they left on a cliff hanger of her still doing cocaine, but it did not quite feel like a main plot. This episode gets a B but continues to show that Degrassi is rocking this season.

Tomorrow: Should've Said No (Part 1)

Pretty Little Liars: Save The Date

"She has a hole in her stomach!"

The girls now know that Garret is working with Jenna. They follow him to her house and watch as the two make out. Garret and Jenna realize the girls are onto them and that they are questioning whether or not Ian killed Alison. Jenna wants to put a stop to this.

Aria's brother Mike is still troubled and fighting with his old friends. His Mom tries to confront him about it but he lashes out and reminds her that she walked out on them before when she moved out. Ezra stops by and visits Aria to ask her how she's doing. She tells him that she knew about Mike's problems for a while thanks to Jason. Ezra questions why she didn't tell him and wants her to not be embarrassed with him. As he leaves he asks her if he needs to be worried about her and Jason, she assures him that he shouldn't. Later Ezra meets her at the hospital. While they are talking she gets a call from Jason, but lies and tells Ezra it's her father.

Emily has been training incredibly hard for her next meet, especially since a scout from Danby will be there and might be her last chance. She is surprised to see her father who has come back to watch her at her meet. Things take a turn for the worst when Emily collapses in pain at school and is rushed to the hospital. There they tell her that she has developed an ulcer. Emily worries that she has blown her chances at Danby and won't be able to swim for a while. She is ready to tell her parents the truth about school. Emily is shocked when Dr. Wren comes in and tells her that they found traces of performance enhancing drugs in her system. Emily knows she hasn't taken anything. She gets a message later from "A" and realizes that "A" has been injecting the drugs into Emily's medicine. Just when she's ready to confess, her father tells her that they don't want her to pressure herself to get into Danby, therefore she has no need now to confess.

In the morning Hanna wakes up to her father coming down for breakfast, claiming that he drank too much and slept over. The situation becomes more awkward when Hanna gets her invitation to her father's wedding to Isabel. Hanna later sees Caleb doing his sketchy business and being watched by a cop. She is hesitant to tell him, as she fears he'll run. Meanwhile, her mother asks her father to leave and go be with his fiance'. Hanna is angry when she finds out and tells her mom that her father still loves her, but her mother is tired of living a fantasy. Hanna tears up her invitation in anger. Hanna finally tells Caleb what has been going on and he worries it's concerning his past. Caleb promises Hanna that he is not going anywhere. She later warns the "cop" to stay away from Caleb, because he is happy and has a good life. The man later phones the person who hired him to find Caleb, and tells them that Caleb will not want to see them.

Wren stops by the Hastings residence to see Melissa, who is not there. Spencer uses this time to question him about the morgue at the hospital where Wren is working at in Rosewood for 6 months. Soon, Spencer realizes that Wren came there to see her but she reminds him that she has a boyfriend now. At school, Garret questions Spencer about what she was talking about the night before but she tells him it was nothing and rushes off to class, leaving him suspicious. While visiting Emily at the hospital she finds the morgue and decides to pose as a candy striper with Aria to find the file on Alison. The girls go in and find out a lot more about Alison's death. Alison was hit with an object that could very well be the hockey stick, however that did not kill her. Alison died after she was buried alive! The girls deal with this devastatingly tragic information and share it with Emily. As Spencer puts the file back together the girls notice that page 5 is now missing.

While in the morgue, we see a body pop up underneath the sheet. It is assumed to be "A".

This episode was not as dark and intense. But it certainly gave a lot of new information and also meshed well with the more relatable stories going on with the characters. We gives this episode an A- and praise the show for getting us excited again!

Degrassi: Paper Planes (Part 1)

"Things can't possibly get any worse"

The third week of Degrassi: Now or Never began tonight! The week kicked off with the episode named after an M.I.A song. These episodes are continuing to flow quite well together.

Owen and Anya are out at a club on their first real date where they hang out with his friends. Anya is trying to take her mind off of telling her parents that she didn't get into TU. While at the club Anya decides to try cocaine, which immediately lifts her spirits and leads her to the dance floor. The next morning Anya is already regretting it as she feels the come down from it. She joins her disappointed Mom in a mandatory meeting that all the seniors planning to graduate have. Anya confesses that she only applied to TU because she wanted to stay close to Dr. Chris. Mr. Simpson is helping Anya in her attempts to try and get into a school for the fall, which is difficult at this point. Later Anya confides in Holly J who disapproves of her experimenting with cocaine and her relationship with Owen. Owen gives the Anya the advice to take what she wants, which leads to Anya getting a face to face meeting about getting into school. Anya is excited and brings Owen to the volleyball fundraiser, during which Owen overhears Holly J telling Anya that she needs to dump Owen before college because she is too good for him. Owen responds by squirting water at Holly J. That night Anya wants to celebrate at the club with Owen, but he is angry and demands she quit being Holly J's "lapdog". Anya is upset that she is being torn between Owen and Holly J on top of everything else she is dealing with. She runs into Bianca and her friend who gives Anya more coke. Owen goes to apologize but is angry when he sees she is high so the two argue and Owen leaves. As he walks out he sees Anya grinding with another guy on the dance floor.

Charlie is now staying with Fiona at her place, but Fiona has yet to inform her mother who is back in New York with their family. Charlie surprises Fiona with a cat that she brought with her. Fiona tells Holly J that everything is going wonderful and she is ready to fall in love with Charlie, even if she may be allergic to the cat. Eli comes to chat with Fiona about the play and notices what she thinks is an allergic reaction. But Eli sees them as bites and looks it up online. Fiona is shocked when he pulls up a picture of bed bugs. Fiona has her place inspected and confirms her bed bugs. Charlie comes home to Fiona cleaning and holding her responsible for the bed bugs. Charlie is offend by Fiona assuming that her being poor means she brought the bed bugs. Fiona later tries to make it up to her by getting to know each other better and sharing their life stories. Fiona is embarrassed and apologizes when her Mom calls and informs her that the penthouse back home has bed bugs and she is to blame for the infestation. The girls laugh over it in the end.

Connor swears to Wesley that he is done stealing panties. We later see him discussing an app idea with Mr. Simpson that would help girls select clothing based on their moods. Mr. Simpson is proud of him but does not know what inspired Connor. During the volleyball fundraiser, Connor sneaks into the locker room again and takes some photographs of he girls stuff. He also snatches a pink bra. He quickly puts his hood up when he hears Alli walk in. Connor rushes out and knocks Alli down before she can notice who it is.

Everything is flowing quite well so far and we hope part 2 can pick up and give us another A episode for Degrassi season 11. We will post the grade for the full episode tomorrow.
